In addition to teaching student development and working as a student adviser, Jimenez also serves as president of the Multicultural Student Services Directors Council, a statewide body comprised of representatives of 34 technical and community colleges that works to recruit and retain minority students and help them graduate. Jimenez is working with the council on ways to help undocumented students make it through school and help them succeed. At YVC, she has worked with the college to establish scholarships for undocumented students.
