Family and friends gathered in Selah, Washington on December 7, 2019, to celebrate a milestone! Kiyoshi and Katherine McCool celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary as family and friends traveled from all over the country to witness this historical event.
As high school sweethearts, they both graduated from South Kitsap High School in Port Orchard, Washington. Married on December 8, 1969 in Bremerton, Washington, they soon traveled the world. Kiyoshi served our country in the U.S. Army for 20 years and then retired after 20 more years with NOAA.
Katherine was a homemaker in the early '70s when she raised two children, Shane and Robert McCool. In the 1980s she was a working mother holding various jobs as a military wife at various duty stations. Residing in Denver, Colorado for over 20 years, Kiyoshi and Katherine decided to retire and move back to the Pacific Northwest.
We would like to thank Annette and Lawrence Menard for their hospitality and planning to make this event special. And to all the family and friends for taking the time to travel to help celebrate this unique milestone.
