“He asked....she said Yes!” August 16, 1969 Tim Briffett met his bride-to-be, Maralee Sifferman, at CWU in 1967. They were married 2 1/2 years later at St. Joseph’s Church in Seattle, Washington. As newlyweds, they moved to Yakima, Washington where they have lived ever since. Tim & Maralee were blessed with three beautiful children: Jeff, Julie and Sean and two precious grandsons: Logan and Connor.

Both Tim and Maralee have dedicated their lives to their family and the youth of this area. Tim formed a youth group, Reach Youth Ministry, and led many retreats and conferences in the 70’s and 80’s. He also was a math teacher and coach at Marquette Middle School and LaSalle high school for 24 years. Maralee had a rewarding vocation as a Special Ed teacher for 34 years in the Yakima School District.

They are both retired now and enjoying the extra time perfecting the skills of being “the best Papa & Nana ever”!! This past March, Tim and Maralee went to Fiji, New Zealand and Australia with some special friends to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. Their children had a reception for Tim and Maralee on August 17th at the Apple Tree Restaurant to honor their parents and to enjoy the company of their families and many friends.
