SELAH, Wash. — A city of Selah employee was injured Thursday when the lawn mower he was riding crashed over a curb on Hillcrest Drive.
The employee, whose name was withheld by city officials, lost control of the commercial-grade lawn mower while driving the mower downhill from Palm Park.
City Administrator David Kelly said the mower jumped the curb and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.
He said the employee’s injuries were not life-threatening and that he was in stable condition at a local hospital for observation.
The cause of the crash was under investigation, Kelly said, adding city officials plan to review safety practices.
