You may have known Eddy’s Bistro as that restaurant inside Photo Haus at 5906 Summitview Ave.
But that was a few years ago.
Now, the Photo Haus has given way completely to the bistro and coffee shop.
Eddy’s offers breakfast and lunch five days a week and dinner on Thursdays and Fridays. The lunch menu features sandwiches, salads and gourmet thin crust pizzas.
On a recent visit, my husband and I ordered half pizzas with side salads for $8.95 each. I got the California Cobb: chicken, bacon, avocado, tomatoes, Gorgonzola crumbles and mozzarella over an Alfredo sauce. T.J. picked up the classic: pepperoni, sausage, olives and cheese. Both were delicious. Mine came with the chicken and bacon melted into the cheese, and fresh avocado and tomatoes over the top. I wished the tomato had been cooked, too, so next time I may make that request. Regardless, it was still great.
If you get a salad, try the creamy Gorgonzola dressing; it’s like a blue cheese, but a little more mild.
For the twice-weekly dinner menu, you can choose from burgers, salads and a variety of entrees, including steak and prime rib, and more pizzas. Dinner pizzas and burgers cost $12.50 and all of the entrees are between $13 and $20.
The restaurant also has a full bar, extensive cocktail menu and a nice selection of wine and beer.
Breakfast (which our waitress told us is her favorite) includes omelettes with toast starting at $6.95, French toast, biscuits and gravy, or a traditional eggs, potatoes and meat option.
If you’re just passing through, you can order in and pick up your meal at the drive-thru window, or you can grab your coffee that way from the full-service espresso bar.
