TOPPENISH -- Police are looking into separate gang-related shootings and a firebombing at the same home over the past several days.
The most recent incident was shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of East First Avenue. Residents in a home there heard four gunshots, and when one of them went outside to check, found evidence of a Molotov cocktail and weeds behind the home on fire.
The residents used a fire extinguisher to put the flames out. Officers also found four 9mm bullet holes in the home's south wall.
The same home was shot at roughly the same time Saturday. A resident said he heard at least two gunshots and glass breaking, police said.
Officers found three bullet holes in the living room window and recovered a bullet from a speaker box.
A witness said he noticed a male wearing a checkered black and white shirt with a hoodie and blue jeans run from the area and get into a gray or silver Chevrolet Malibu that fled south.
Police have since questioned and released a juvenile male suspect in the case. If anyone has any information about either incident Tuesday night or Saturday, they are asked to call the Toppenish Police Department at 865-4355.
