YAKIMA -- Moxee's Mike Longton made an outside pass with 30 laps remaining and took the 75-circuit ASA Late Model race Saturday at Yakima Speedway.
Longton, who had the second fastest time in qualifying, passed Mike Zamora to the lead. Zamora finished second with Christopher Kalsch in third.
Mike Pepper won the Super Stock race for the second straight time when Andy Beaman was disqualified for accidentally using an incorrect tire during a pit stop. In other racing: Mel Patnode won Hobby Sportsman; Tyson Richter was first in Hobby Stocks; Terry Cook took Hornets; Jacob Little won Youth Hornets; and Donnie Stevens was first in Bump to Pass.

Pak to hold registration
Registration for Yakima Valley Legion baseball will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, May 14 in the Selah Civic Center.
Players from ages 15 to 19 are eligible to play for the Senior Legion Pak and Junior Legion Peppers. Parents and players must attend to discuss the upcoming season and fundraising. The cost of registering is $50.

Elite earns split in Seattle
SEATTLE -- The Yakima Elite AAU basketball team earned a split of their two games Sunday in the Seattle Premier League. Yakima beat Team Chaffey 51-43 in the first game, but lost to Friend of Hoop (Seattle) 59-52 in the late game.
Rallying from a six-point deficit at halftime, Matt Borton led the Elite with 14 points, and Taylor Elmo added 12 in the first game. In the second contest, Borton led Yakima with 16 points, Elmo had 12 and Cody Meeks added 11. The Elite led at halftime 36-34 but couldn't hang on for the victory.
The Elite have a record of 4-2 after the second week of league play.
