Fastpitch roundup -- Powers helps NV claim share of SCAC West

NACHES -- Stephanie Powers collected four hits and three RBI, and pitcher Casi White struck out
15 for the day as Naches Valley swept Goldendale 7-6, 12-10 to earn a share of the SCAC West fastpitch title on Saturday.

Powers finished
4-for-6 for the day with two doubles, and Goldendale's Kayla Graff homered and drove in four runs in the second game.

The Rangers tied Zillah for the West lead at 11-1 and both teams will host first-round district games on Thursday.

CBL 3A DISTRICT

EASTMONT 6, WEST VALLEY 1: At Richland, the Wildcats pulled away with three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning in the loser-out district opener at the Columbia Playfields.

Emily Harpel and Brooke Catron had two hits apiece for West Valley, which finished 11-10. Eastmont went on to win the district title, beating Kennewick 7-1 in the final.

GRANDVIEW 11-8, PROSSER 1-5: At Grandview, Chris Mendoza pitched a two-hitter in the opener and Vanessa Medina was 4-for-4 in the second game as the Greyhounds concluded their regular season with a sweep.

Doris Lupercio had three doubles and two RBI in the first game for Grandview.
