The Greater Yakima Chamber of Commerce recognized a variety of businesses, organizations and community members during its Annual Chamber Awards event at the Yakima Convention Center on Thursday night.
The winners were chosen by the Chamber's membership, which includes more than 1,000 businesses and organizations.
Award winners are:
Ambassador of the Year -- Doug Warren, senior vice president, Smith Barney-Mike Latimer.
Best Media Coverage -- Yakima Valley Business Times, Bruce Smith, owner.
Annual Business Excellence Award -- Yakima Bears Baseball Club, K.L. Wombacher, general manager.
Emerging Business of the Year -- Ummelina Day Spa, Nina Ummel, chief visionary officer.
Business in a Supporting Role -- Perry Technical Institute, Christine Cote, president.
Small Business of the Year -- Masset Winery Downtown Cellars, Greg Masset and Tim Cook, owners.
Best Performance in a Business Role -- Costco Wholesale, Mike O'Hara, general manager.
Spirit of the Valley -- Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences, Stan Flemming, president.
