Spanish tax education courses planned
Rural Community Development Resources and the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce are hosting a Spanish-language tax education seminar for small businesses from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 16 at El Conquistador restaurant, 612 E. Edison Ave., Sunnyside, and from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Sept. 18 at the Rural Community Development Resources building, 22 S. Third Ave., Yakima.
Participants will hear from representatives of the
Internal Revenue Service, state Department of Labor
& Industries and the state Employment Security department on state and federal reporting guidelines.

State to host tax workshop Sept. 17
The state Department of Revenue is holding a tax workshop from 8:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 17 at the department's Yakima office, 3703 River Road, Suite 3.
Participants will learn about Washington excise taxes, reporting classifications, deductions, tax incentives, sales tax collection, and record-keeping requirements.
A workbook and a helpful reference guide to Department of Revenue rules and regulations, will be given during the workshop.
