SELAH -- The Richland Knights handed River Ridge its first loss with a 6-0 victory Tuesday night in the Selah bracket of the Junior Legion state baseball tournament at Carlon Park.
Richland advances to play Burlington, a 6-5 winner over Central Valley in Tuesday's loser-out game, at 5 p.m. today. A half hour after that game the winner will take on River Ridge in the bracket final.
The Selah bracket winner will play the Kennewick bracket champ on Thursday at 6 p.m. for the state championship at Carlon Park.
In Kennewick on Tuesday, unbeaten Chehalis ousted North Thurston 18-5 and Kennewick eliminated Pasco 7-3. Chehalis and Kennewick will play today at 3 p.m. with a second game if necessary.

Cook, Tikriti drop in flights
LONGVIEW -- Yakima's Christine Cook lost her championship flight match on Tuesday and will move into today's first flight in the Junior Girls Pacific Northwest Championships at Longview Country Club.
Cook fell in the match-play round, 7 and 6, to Tukwila's Mallory Kent, who shot a 33 on the front nine. Cook will play twice today, starting with an 8:10 a.m. match against Spokane's Kaitlin Parsons.
Yakima's Liz Tikriti lost Tuesday, 4 and 2, to Bellevue's Isabel Chien and will continue play today in the fifth flight.
