About 7:20 p.m., police received a call about an eastbound 1996 Cadillac Eldorado nearly striking other vehicles on Interstate 82, police said.
Police said the driver then entered Granger and led police on a high-speed chase down Bailey Avenue into town, where he crashed through a fence, struck the concrete base of a light pole and finally stopped after plowing through two more fences.
The driver was arrested and taken to Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center for injuries sustained in the crash. A condition update was not available Thursday, police said.
The driver faces charges of felony eluding, malicious mischief, driving under the influence and driving with a suspended license.
