You only have a couple of weeks left to check out "Cowboys on the Silver Screen."

The special exhibit at the Yakima Valley Museum features items culled from the museum's own collections (plus cool stuff purchased on eBay), various photos and keepsakes on loan from the attics and scrapbooks of local folks, and a wide variety of movie posters and related artifacts -- like the shirt and hat worn by John Wayne in the 1956 Western epic "The Searchers" -- from the National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City.

The exhibit runs through July 27 at the museum, 2105 Tieton Drive. Museum hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for students and seniors, and free for 5 and younger.

Also, the third Cowboy Movie Night is at 7 p.m. July 25 in the Great Hall of the museum. On the double feature bill is the 1934 John Wayne film "The Star Packer," and "Under Western Stars," the 1938 debut role of Roy Rogers.

The doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the showing starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and there will be a cash bar.
