Four new traffic cameras have been added to Interstate 90 to help travelers making the trip over Snoqualmie Pass, the state Department of Transportation has announced.
The portable trailer-mounted cameras were placed at several strategic locations to help traffic managers and motorists keep an eye on traffic in places where backups and delays frequently occur on weekends and holidays.
The new locations are at Denny Creek Road, about five miles west of the summit at milepost 47, and three spots east of the summit -- Golf Course Road (milepost 77), Cle Elum (milepost 85) and Elk Heights (milepost 93).
The new cameras join a fleet of existing cameras across the state that feed round-the-clock information to the state's seven Traffic Management Centers, one of which is in Yakima.
To view the cameras, visit the DOT's web site at www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/routelist.aspx and click on the various links for Interstate 90.
