CWU women set records as well

To the sports editor -- I really enjoyed Roger Underwood's column about the first 49 years of CWU's Nicholson Pavilion.

Yes, the men's teams were quite dominant. I also remember a women's team that holds a record on that court, before the 3-point line and with a smaller ball.

In 1977 the CWU women beat Whitworth 111 to 63 and forced an astronomical
46 turnovers.

Of course, that was back when head coaches for womens sports, at Central, were women, and no one cared to keep stats.

Ah, the memories.
