Felicia Ellithorpe, far right, watches as fire and medic crews treat a 75-year-old Yakima woman who ran her Subaru Outback into Ellithorpe’s house at the southwest corner of Ninth Avenue and Tieton Drive on Thursday afternoon. Ellithorpe said she has always worried about a car hitting her home, which was unoccupied at the time. “My kids and I all sleep in that bedroom (where the car hit),” Ellithorpe said. “And I just put clean sheets on the bed,” she added, jokingly. Police said the driver may suffer from an unspecified medical condition that caused her to crash. She was headed west on Tieton when she missed a curve and hit the house. She was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, but police did not specify that she was hurt in the crash.
