'Miss HIV' to be shown today in Ellensburg
Kittitas County Women of Vision is hosting a free movie screening of a film about HIV today.
"Miss HIV" is an ethnographic film about women in Botswana who are HIV positive and participate in the Miss HIV pageant.
The film will be shown at 10 a.m. at the Grand Meridian Cinema, 504 E. Mountain View Ave., in Ellensburg. Doors open at 9:30 a.m.
Kittitas County Women of Vision is a volunteer ministry of World Vision, a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families and their communities worldwide to tackle poverty and injustice. Chapters support dozens of international and local World Vision projects that address the needs of children and women.

Special needs worship program begins in East Valley
East Valley Reformed Church is offering a new worship program for children of all ages with special needs.
It begins at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Two lectures on tap today at Selah Seventh-day Adventist
The Selah Seventh-day Adventist Church is hosting a couple of lectures today. The Rev. Maurice Vargas of the Staten Island-based Spirit of Prayer Ministries will be talking about "Overcoming Heredity" at 11 a.m. at the church, 170 Harrison Road in Selah. The talk will be followed by a luncheon. Vargas will speak again at 2:30 p.m. on "How to Control Your Thoughts."
The talks are free and open to the public.

Soup, sandwich, worship at Peace Lutheran Church
Peace Lutheran Church in Selah is offering soup and sandwich suppers on Wednesday evenings during Advent.
The meal will be followed by a time of worship. The suppers begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by worship at 6:30 p.m., beginning Wednesday. Additional dates are: Nov. 26, Dec. 3, Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
The church is at 91 Wernex Loop, next to the junior high school track. Stop by or call the church office at 697-4353 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays for more information.
Mass for deceased priests
Yakima's St. Paul Cathedral is hosting a special Mass for all deceased priests, bishops and deacons who have served the Diocese of Yakima.
The Mass takes place at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Most Rev. Carlos Sevilla, bishop of the Diocese of Yakima, is slated to say the Mass.

The Yakima Association of Churches and Faith Communities is sponsoring an Interfaith Service of Thanksgiving on Wednesday night.
The ecumenical worship service, hosted by Yakima's St. Paul Cathedral Parish, takes place at 7 p.m. The theme of the service -- featuring prayer, song and scripture -- will be the Colossians 3:12-17.
The service takes place the chapel at St. Paul Cathedral, 15 S. 12th Ave. It will be followed by a reception in the cathedral's Assembly Place, adjacent to the chapel.
