Irmgard H. Albrecht

Irmgard H. Albrecht, 86, of Yakima died Friday.

Mrs. Albrecht was born in Berlin, Germany. The family moved to Canada, then in 1954 to Spokane, and in 1984 they settled in Hemet, Calif. In 2005, she and her husband moved to Yakima. She worked as a seamstress for numerous businesses and for a Washington state institution.

Survivors include her husband, Bruno R. Albrecht, and a son, Bernie Albrecht, both of Yakima; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

No services are being planned at this time.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Rowena J. Cowin

Rowena J. Cowin, 95, of Wapato died Saturday at Parkside Nursing Home.

Mrs. Cowin was born in Yakima. She and her husband owned and operated Cowin and Sons Ranches. It was established in 1908 and they planted cherries, apricots and prunes.

Survivors include two sons, Richard Cowin and Don Cowin, both of Wapato; a daughter, Mary Cowin of Lynnwood, Wash.; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday at Englewood Christian Church, 44th and Englewood avenues, Yakima.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Gertrude Dillman

Gertrude Dillman, 88, of Wapato died Friday.

Mrs. Dillman was born in Portland and moved to the Yakima valley in 1942. She worked numerous jobs, including in the hop, mint and beet fields, area restaurants in the 1950s and local warehouses.

Survivors include a son, Wilbert Dillman of Wapato; two daughters, Beverly Brown of Wapato and Candy Cruz of Yakima; and a sister, Helen Becker of Wheatland, Wyo.

Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. Friday at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Reservation Community Memorial Park.

 

Robert Joel (Bob) Hadeen

Robert Joel (Bob) Hadeen, 84, of Spokane and formerly of Sunnyside, died Saturday.

Mr. Hadeen was born in Dawson County, Neb. He raised Arabian horses and worked in the clothing business.

Survivors include his companion, Carla Reeme of Spokane; five daughters, Toni Levitt of Philadelphia, Colleen Gray of Othello, Doreen Fife of Bellingham, Wash, Bobbie Beesley of Weiser, Idaho, and Lisa Roach of Idaho Falls, Idaho; 19 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

He will be buried in the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.

Valley Hills Funeral Home of Sunnyside has in charge of arrangements.

 

Barbara Hawk

Barbara Hawk, 89, of Yakima died Monday at home.

Mrs. Hawk was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and moved to Yakima as a child. She was a homemaker.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy Cawley and Loretta Bossert, both of Yakima; a son, Ronald Hawk of Yakima; four grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

In honor of her request, no funeral services will be held. Burial will be in West Hills Memorial Park.

Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Opal Joan Jackson

Opal Joan Jackson, 84, of Zillah died Sunday in Yakima.

Mrs. Jackson was born in Timmish Mountain, Okla.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Jackson; a son, Robert Jackson; a daughter, Diane Donaldson, all of Zillah; a sister, Dorothy Erksleiven of Seattle; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the Zillah Cemetery.

Valley Hills Funeral Home of Zillah is in charge of arrangements.

 

Maria Guadalupe Mariscal

Maria Guadalupe Mariscal, 75, of Yakima died Saturday.

Mrs. Mariscal was born in Coalcoman, Michoacan, Mexico.

Survivors include two daughters, Ofelia Cortez of Arizona and Omelina Cortez of Yakima; a son, Jose Cortez of Yakima; a brother, Jose Mariscal, and a sister, Aurora Mariscal, both of Mexico.

Visitation will be from noon to 8 p.m. today, with a vigil service at 5 p.m., at Keith and Keith Funeral Home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Cathedral. She will be laid to rest in Michoacan.

 

Michael Lee McKaughan

Michael Lee McKaughan, 59, of Yakima died Tuesday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. McKaughan was born in Torrance, Calif. He worked in the shoe repair business.

Survivors include his wife, Linda McKaughan of Yakima; and two sons, Chris McKaughan and Billie McKaughan.

No public services are planned.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home is in charge of cremation arrangements.

 

Dawn Marie Mendoza

Dawn Marie Mendoza, 44, of Selah died Friday.

Ms. Mendoza was born in Chicago, and lived here for over 28 years. She worked as a CNA in Yakima.

Survivors include a son, David Cardenas of Pasco; four daughters, Rebecca Cardenas of Clarkston, Idaho, Deanna Mendoza, Valena Mendoza and Olivia Mendoza, all of Mattawa; four brothers, Frank Peterson, Mark Peterson and J.J. Peterson of Erie, Pa., and Michael Peterson of Italy; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Sherman Memorial Park (Nob Hill Boulevard, across from Kmart in Yakima).

Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory in Yakima is in charge of arrangements.

 

Orrin Arthur Miller

Orrin Arthur Miller, 61, of Wapato died Tuesday at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.

Mr. Miller was born in Nespelem, Wash., and grew up in the Parker/Wapato area. He worked for the Yakama Nation Police Department, and retired after 29 years and six months of service. He was presently serving as a gaming commissioner for Yakama Nation Legends Casino.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Miller of Wapato; four children, Orrin Miller Jr., Kelly Miller, Angel Miller and Benjamin Miller, all of Wapato; three brothers, Stanley Miller, Melvin Miller and Larry Wesley; six sisters, Phyllis Littlebull, Marilyn Selam, Nadine Ike, DeEtte Tahkeal, Leanne Umtuch and Naomi Rivas; and six grandchildren.

Dressing service will be at 1 p.m. today at Merritt Funeral Home. Following the dressing service, he will be taken to the All Tribes Christian Life Center for overnight services. On Thursday he will be transported to the Toppenish Longhouse for overnight services. The procession will leave the Toppenish Longhouse at 8 a.m. Friday for burial in the 1910 Shaker Church Cemetery in White Swan.

 

Violet M. Warren

Violet M. Warren, 88, of Mabton died Sunday.

Mrs. Warren was born in Alliance, Neb. During World War II she worked as a lathe machinist in the shipyards in Portland. She later owned Eastgate Market for three years then moved to White Swan. She resided in Bickleton from 1955 until 1959 and then moved to Mabton. She also worked for Twin City Foods in Prosser and Teagarden in Grandview.

Survivors include her husband, Bob A. Warren of Mabton; six children, Richard Silbaugh of Palmyra, Tenn., Claudia Silbaugh of Grandview, Theresa Murillo of Moses Lake, Wash., Kathy Rodriguez of Sunnyside, Robert Warren Jr. of Vancouver, Wash., and Rebecca Warren of Selah; 18 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, also at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the Mabton Cemetery.

 

Robert T. Adcock

Robert T. Adcock, 69, of Yakima died Sunday.

Mr. Adcock was born in Pekin, Ill.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian C. Adcock of Yakima; two sons, Michael Andrew Adcock of Ballard, Wash., and Robert T. Adcock Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; four brothers, George Adcock of Beloit, Wis., Jerry Adcock of South Beloit, Ill., Byron Adcock of Pekin, Ill., and Lyle Adcock of Edmonds, Wash.; seven sisters, Liz Yearly of Congress, Ariz., Jacqueline Wright of Lemon Grove, Calif., Janet Grimm of Arizona, Louise Thomas and Diane Emmons of Manito, Ill., Joyce Ziegenbein of Lake of the Ozarks, Mo., and Linda Smith of Pekin; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

There will be a celebration of life for Robert at a later date.

Arrangements are under direction of Keith and Keith Funeral Home.
