Virginia Kraft
Virginia Kraft, 82, of Yakima died Wednesday.
Mrs. Kraft was born in Rigby, Idaho, and moved to the Yakima Valley when she was a young child. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include three sons, Lee Kraft and Steve Kraft of Yakima and Tim Kraft of Selah; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be at noon Saturday in West Hills Memorial Park.
Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
Martina R. Little
Martina R. Little, 63, of Wapato died Tuesday in Yakima.
Mrs. Little was born in Riverton, Wyo., and moved to the Yakima Valley in the early 1990s. She was a member of the Northern Arapahoe Tribe.
Survivors include two daughters, Darla Sanchez of Riverton and Verna Long Soldier of Portland; two sons, Artie Long Soldier of Toppenish and Richard Long Soldier of Riverton; three brothers, Richard Brown Jr. of Taos, N.M., Royce Lone Bear and Marcus Brown Sr. of Riverton; six sisters, Florita Soldier Wolf of Riverton, Violet Brown of Spokane, Mildred Wahpat and Jenny Miller of Wapato, Patricia Herrera and Joyce Brown of Granger; six grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
A wake will start at 5:30 p.m. Friday at 522 Larena Lane in Wapato. Mass of Christian burial will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato.
Colonial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Valdine F. Miller
Valdine F. Miller, 88, of Ellensburg died Wednesday at Royal Vista Care Center.
Mrs. Miller was born in rural Swauk Prairie, Wash., and was a lifetime resident of Kittitas County. She was office manager at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery and later worked in various local retail business, including Ostrander Drug Store as a clerk.
Survivors include a son, LeRoy Miller; a daughter, Delores Anthony of Ellensburg; five grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A family memorial observation is planned, with inurnment in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Affordable Funeral Care of Ellensburg is in charge of arrangements.
Maurice E. 'Morrie' Stone
Maurice E. "Morrie" Stone, 87, died Wednesday in Yakima.
Mr. Stone was born in Rochelle, Ill., and served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He moved to Yakima in 1953. He opened his own real estate company (M.E. Stone, Realtor) in January 1957 and continued the business until January 1983. He was also a home builder.
Survivors include his wife, Hope; a son, Larry Stone of Orlando, Fla.; two daughters, Georgia Pilgrim and Shirley McKenney, both of Spokane; a stepdaughter, Sherry Kolar of Palm Springs, Calif.; five grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
At his request, no service will be held.
Neptune Society of Washington is in charge of cremation arrangements.
Paul Lopez
Paul Erik Lopez, 24, of Granger was fatally shot Sunday at a home in Granger and died at Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center.
Mr. Lopez was born in Weslaco, Texas.
He worked as a forklift operator and bouncer.
Survivors include his wife, Esperanza Lopez of Yakima; three children, Robert Lopez and Yasmine Lopez, both of Granger, and Lizet Hurtado of Yakima; a sister, Sonia Lee Ramirez; two brothers, Jeremy James Lopez and Teodoro Lopez; his father, Teodoro Ortiz; his mother and stepfather, Barbara Jean and Manuel C. Torres of Yakima.
Viewing and visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary to be recited at 6 p.m., and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Smith Funeral Home in Sunnyside. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Granger. Burial will be at the Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside.
