Agriculture

The Washington Agriculture and Forestry Education Foundation has selected Bradley Newman for the Washington Agriculture and Forestry Leadership Program. During the program, Newman, a technical account manager with AgroFresh Inc., will attend seminars designed to increase leadership skills and increase motivation to contribute to Washington's natural resource industries by studying local, state, national and international issues affecting the industries.

Health care

Physical therapists Doug Sarver and Gregory Huefner have been awarded certification to practice the Mulligan Concept. Sarver and Huefner, co-owners of Peak Performance Sports and Spine, earned the certification after taking several courses and passing an exam on the method.

The American Lung
Association of Washington has hired Dan Smith as tobacco control manager for Yakima County. Smith previously worked as program director of the All Nations Center, an American Indian outreach facility in Wapato providing assistance to the Yakama Nation.

Insurance

The local branch of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors has presented Glenn Stocker with its annual Agent of the Year award. Stocker, who has been a member of the organization for more than 38 years, was given the award for his service to clients and the community, which included medical support trips to Central America and Kenya.
