ONTARIO, Ore. — Sammi Jo Blodgett scored 25 points Saturday to lead Yakima Valley’s women to a much-needed 69-56 victory over Treasure Valley in East Region play.

Angelique Williams had 13 points and Jaimi Cox, another reserve, added 10 for the Yaks, who led 36-21 at halftime and inflated the margin to 63-38 late in the game.

Neither team shot especially well, but while the Chukars (0-7, 1-17) were making onl 1 of 19 3-point attempts, the YVCC was making 7 of 18.

“We’re not quite to the point where every game is a must win, but we’re getting close,” said Oldham, whose team has lost three region game by a total of eight points. “We’re in the same position we were in before the weekend, but we were hoping to move up a spot. If the light bulb comes on soon, we’ll be OK.”
