LONGVIEW — Joel YellowOwl scored 21 points and grabbed eight rebounds to help lead Yakima Valley past Spokane 82-74 in the Lower Columbia Thanksgiving Classic championship game on Sunday.

Jacoby Howe added 16 points, while Montero Rice chipped in with 15 points and six assists for the Yaks (3-0). Tomas Ogbaslassie also reached double figures with 10 points.

YellowOwl was named tournament Most Valuable Player, while Rice earned all-tournament first-team honors.

Brady Bagby scored 21 points to lead Spokane.
