SOAP LAKE — Krista Nagle of West Valley captured the CWAC district girls golf title in a playoff Thursday, leading a group of four Rams qualifying for next week’s Class 2A state tournament.

Nagle, a senior, beat Ephrata’s Katie Hillard on the first playoff hole after the two tied for first with rounds of 87 at Lakeview Golf & Country Club.

She will be joined at state by teammates Miranda Swanson, Alexis Brown and Kendyl Comiskey. Swanson had a 103 Thursday, with Brown and Comiskey both shooting 106.

That group was among eight local golfers advancing. Also qualifying were East Valley’s Tiffany Sauve (fourth with a 94), Selah’s Morgan Edwards (sixth, 100), Ellensburg’s Mackenzie Burvee (11th, 105), and Toppenish’s Victoria Sanchez (12th, 106).

A total of 14 golfers advanced to state, which will be Tuesday and Wednesday at The Classic Golf Course in Spanaway.
