TOPPENISH, Wash. — Legends Casino is accepting applications from nonprofit groups and agencies seeking grants from its charitable fund.
Each year, the casino gives a share of its profits to local nonprofits, law enforcement and fire agencies for any effects operations may have on surrounding communities.
Applications for the charitable fund will be accepted until March 31, and money will be disbursed to those selected in May. Applications can be obtained at www.legendscasino.com.
Last year, the casino distributed $357,532 to 163 area nonprofits. Recipients included schools, senior and veteran services, food banks and homeless shelters.
Owned and operated by the Yakama Nation, the casino has been in business for nearly 15 years.
