WENATCHEE — Sydni Phillips made a pair of free throws with 3 seconds remaining and Davis then forced a turnover on the ensuing inbounds to clinch a first-round disrict home game with a 45-42 victory over Wenatchee in Saturday’s final round of CBBN girls basketball games.

The Pirates wrapped up second place in the CBBN, finishing 10-5 in league and improving to 11-9 overall. The Pirates will host third-seed Eastmont (14-6) at 7 p.m. Thursday in a loser-out district game.

Alexis Perez led Davis with 12 points, and Alexis Gratton added 11 for the Pirates, who forced 19 Wenatchee turnovers.

Maddi Hallburg had 13 points and Amira Chandler 10 for the Panthers (3-12, 4-16), who play at top-seeded Moses Lake in Thursday’s other first-round game.
