YAKIMA, Wash. — Police on Thursday night were investigating the shooting of a 19-year-old man on Roosevelt Avenue in Yakima.
Sgt. Shelley Upton said the man was shot in the shoulder in a car on Roosevelt near the intersection with Clarke Avenue. The man was taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital, where he was being treated for unknown injuries.
Upton said the shooting appeared to be gang-related. She said a red car was seen driving away from the scene.
Police were still at the scene Thursday night examining the car in which the man was shot.
