TOPPENISH — Police reported a quick arrest following a home invasion-style robbery Tuesday morning.
In a news release, Toppenish police said two men in the 500 block of West Third Avenue were robbed at gunpoint in their home by an intruder shortly after 10:30 a.m.
The men said the intruder pointed a gun at them and stole a few pieces of jewelry and cash before fleeing on foot.
Officers located a suspect in the immediate area and took him into custody after a brief struggle, according to the news release.
A gun, jewelry and cash were recovered at the arrest scene. The suspect, a 23-year-old man, was booked into the Yakima County jail on suspicion of robbery and a firearms violation.
The name of the suspect is being withheld by the Yakima Herald-Republic pending a charging decision by prosecutors.
