EDITOR’S NOTE: Thanks to the compassion of countless people in the Yakima Valley, we’ve been able to help the less fortunate through Season of Sharing, which is now in its 12th year. Working through the Yakima County RSVP, local nonprofits have provided information on individuals and families who could use your help. Each day through Christmas, the Yakima Herald-Republic will publish information in print and online about some of those in need.

A mother of five has been abandoned by her husband and has no help with the children while surviving on one income.

Anyone who can help provide for the family will be greatly appreciated. The four girls — ages 14, 13, 11 and 10 — need shirts size medium, small and 12; pants size 12, 9, 1 and 0; and shoes size 7, 4, 5 and 3. The toddler, 1, needs clothes size 24 months or 2T and shoes size 4 in toddlers.

Shampoo, conditioner, laundry detergent, dish soap, toilet paper, towels, blankets and food would also be welcome.

To donate, call Lucy Prado, school counselor at Washington Middle School, 509-573-2325. The school address is 510 S. Ninth St. Yakima, WA 98901.

Donations will be accepted until Dec. 13.
