Edna Irene “Eddie” (Fisher) Durham, 91, of Yakima died Sunday at home. Mrs. Durham was born in Sharon, N.D. She moved to Bremerton and was the personal assistant to the Naval commander during World War II. Following the war she worked in a dry cleaning plant. After her marriage, she moved to Yakima, where she owned and operated American Hatters. After selling the store, she and her husband built houses. Later, she worked for Sullivan Cleaners and in various fruit warehouses as a sorter.

Survivors include two daughters, Colleen Fisher and Connie Fisher, both of Yakima; a stepson, Patrick Durham of Damascus, Ore.; a sister, Florence Paulson of Mayville, N.D.; and several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors, Yakima. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church, Yakima. Committal will follow in Tahoma Cemetery, Yakima.
