YAKIMA, Wash. — Keeping its late-season charge in high gear, Davis’ boys soccer team earned its third consecutive shutout with a 1-0 shootout victory over Sunnyside in CBBN play Tuesday at Davis Field.

The Pirates (5-4, 10-4-1) have a big conference finale at Wenatchee on Friday. Davis and Wenatchee are tied for the No. 2 seed to district one game behind Moses Lake, which hosts Sunnyside on Friday.

Cristian Castro, Luis Valle and Jesus Salcedo tallied for Davis in the shootout, which the Pirates won 3-2, while Estevan Hernandez recorded five saves for the shutout.

WENATCHEE 2, EISENHOWER 1: At Yakima, Wash., the Panthers scored a pair of goals in the second half to earn the victory after Ike’s Hector Chavez found the net in the first half.

The Cadets (2-7, 6-8-1) conclude league play Friday at Eastmont.

At Yakima, Wash., Benjamin Stockdale scored the lone goal of the match off an assist by Isaiah Villa in the first half as the Bulldogs (5-4, 10-6) secured the No. 5 seed to district.

Despite the setback, West Valley (4-5, 7-8-1) earned the No. 6 seed thanks to its league-opening victory over East Valley, which also finished 4-5. Ellensburg will play a first-round, loser-out contest at Othello on Saturday while West Valley plays at Selah.

Highland had built a 3-0 lead as Missael Lopez added to a 1-0 halftime advantage with two second half goals. The Vikings then produced three unanswered scores before Paniagua scored.
