Elmer Joseph Geffre, 79, of Yakima died Monday at Cottage in the Meadow. Mr. Geffre was born in Loyalton, S.D., and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a lifelong resident of the Yakima Valley and taught math at Eisenhower High School for more than 32 years.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Geffre of Yakima; five daughters, Kimberly Snider of Ellensburg, Connie Nesary of Cashmere, Pam Schmierer and Diana Geffre, both of Selah, and Wendy Fikkan of Yakima; two brothers, Wendle Geffre of Yakima and Mark Geffre of Yuma, Ariz.; two sisters, Dorothy Dunn and Angie Halverson of Yakima; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life reception will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Golden Villa Mobile Home Park Clubhouse, Yakima. Arrangements are by Valley Hills Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
