Raymond “Red” Howard Copeland, 79, of Union Gap died Friday at Cottage in the Meadow. Mr. Copeland was born in Mountainview, Ark. He owned and operated a bar.

Survivors include eight children, Jeannie Johnson, Toni Byers, Terri Copeland and Bruce Copeland, all of Yakima, William Springfield and Rusty Copeland, both of Union Gap, Dean Tatro of Ellensburg and Gina Tatro of Burlington; and two sisters, Gelene Metz of Depoe Bay, Ore., and Inez Taylor of Yakima.

A celebration of life, with a potluck meal, will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 7 at the Central Washington Agricultural Museum in Union Gap. Arrangements are by Brookside Funeral Home and Crematory of Yakima.
