Jose “Benjamin” B. Reyes, 51, of Toppenish died Saturday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Reyes was born in Jalisco, Mexico. He moved to Toppenish in the mid-1980s and worked for El Ranchito in Zillah for 10 years before purchasing the Old Western Auto in Toppenish. He also operated Reyes Buffet and Luz Clarita Clothing Store.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Reyes; a son, Benjamin Reyes; four daughters, Mari, Flor, Clarita and Lupita Reyes; his parents, Francisco and Maria Reyes, all of Toppenish; three sisters, Isidra Reyes of Dallas, and Maria Reyes-Gonzales and Maria Reyes, both of Toppenish; six brothers, Alfredo, Jose F. Jose C., Jose Jesus and Guadalupe Reyes, all of Toppenish, and Jose A. Reyes of Dallas.

Visitation will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Colonial Funeral Home, Toppenish. Recitation of the rosary will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Toppenish. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the church, with interment to follow in the Zillah City Cemetery.
