UNION GAP — A traffic stop on Interstate 82 near Union Gap led to the recovery of two stolen pistols.
The pistols, a Dan Wesson .357 Magnum and a .45-caliber Glock, were found under the front seats of a car that was pulled over early Saturday for failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, according to an arrest affidavit.
The driver, a 25-year-old Toppenish man, told a trooper with the Washington State Patrol that he had a concealed weapons permit and that there was a pistol under his seat, the trooper said.
The driver was subsequently booked into the Yakima County jail on suspicion of several firearms violations and drunken driving.
He has since bailed out.
