Alvin L. Settler, 83, of Toppenish died at home Friday.
Mr. Settler was born in Wapato. He was raised in the Yakima Valley and worked as a judge in the Yakama Nation Children’s Court, before being appointed Chief Judge of the Yakama Nation Tribal Court.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Settler of Toppenish; a son, Randy Settler of Carson; a daughter, Marcella Settler-Kantjas of Portland; and three grandchildren.
Dressing services were Monday at the Toppenish Longhouse followed by overnight service. The funeral will be at sunrise today in the Umtuch Logie Cemetery, Toppenish. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home, Toppenish.
