James Olsen, 81, of Toppenish died Friday at Toppenish Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Olsen was raised in Wapato. He served in the Army in the medical corps. He later worked in the cannery business in Seattle and retired in 1992. He moved to Toppenish, where he was involved with the McKinley Indian Mission.

Services will be Wednesday evening at McKinley Indian Mission and 8 a.m. Thursday at the church, with interment to follow in the Umtuch-Logie Cemetery, south of Toppenish. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home, Toppenish.
