EDITOR’S NOTE: Thanks to the compassion of countless people in the Yakima Valley, we’ve been able to help the less fortunate through Season of Sharing, now in its 12th year. Working through the Yakima County RSVP, local nonprofits have provided information on individuals and families who could use your help. Each day through Christmas, the Yakima Herald-Republic will publish information in print and online about some of those in need.

A single mother raising two girls has a baby boy due any day. A survivor of domestic violence, she has worked to start a new life, having recently completed her GED.

She has kept her children her primary focus.

The family has a need for gift cards for gas, groceries and hygiene products. Also needed: an area rug for a bedroom; two twin-size sheets and comforters; a baby bathtub; a baby bouncer; diapers size 1 or 2; and wipes.

The girls need clothing. Desirable toys range from Barbie dolls to Disney Princess toys.

Professional family pictures — which would be a first for the family — would be nice.

Persons wishing to help or find out clothing sizes can contact Maternal Health Services of Memorial Hospital, 2903 W. Walnut St., 509-575-8160. Hours are 8-4 p.m.The agency will close by noon Christmas Eve.
