Jesus M. Torres, 86, of Yakima died at Cottage in the Meadow.
Mr. Torres was born in La Paloma, Michoacan, Mexico. He lived in the Yakima Valley since the late 1970s. He worked in the fields, area canneries and warehouses.
Survivors include his wife, Maria Torres; three sons, Jose Torres and Jesus Torres, all of Yakima, and Rafael Torres of Pasco; six daughters, Maria Rodriguez, Liduvina Torres-Ferrer, Jovita Cisneros and Leticia Uriostegui, all of Yakima, and Catalina Torres-Moreno and Rosalia Torres-Gonzalez, both of Mexico; four sisters, Marina Torres and Carmela Torres, both of Mexico, and Lupita Torres and Juana Torres, both of California; 37 grandchildren and 59 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Valley Hills Funeral Home, Yakima, with recitation of the rosary at 6. Mass of Christian burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Yakima, with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery, Yakima.
