YAKIMA, Wash. — A fire destroyed the Davis High School track and field shed early Monday evening.

Coach Rick Clark said he left Kumler Field after practice at 6 p.m., and was notified about 45 minutes later that the shed was on fire.

The shed, which contains all of the school’s track and field equipment, appears to be a total loss, Clark said.

Clark said the shed’s electrical system consisted of a few light bulbs.

“It looks like it started where there’s no lighting,” Clark said.

Clark estimated the contents of the building to be worth $30,000-$40,000.

He said the team was trying to make alternate practice plans for today, possibly at Zaepfel Stadium.
