Clyde Rufus Schmeck, 75, of Yakima died Sunday at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Schmeck was born in Klamath Falls, Ore. He moved to Yakima in 1946. He served in the Marine Corps for two years and in the Coast Guard for one year. He became a barber, working in several local shops, including his own. Before retirement, he worked for Hanford for 10 years.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Schmeck of Yakima; five children, Neil Schmeck of Renton, Nichole Schmeck, Kathi King and Willi Kapp, all of Yakima, and Randi Owens of Vancouver, Wash.; a sister, Agnes Englund of Salem, Ore.; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday at Shaw and Sons Funeral Directors, Yakima. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with final committal in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
