YAKIMA, Wash. — Prosecutors have filed multiple charges against a 39-year-old Yakima man accused having sex with a 15-year-old boy.

Among the charges in Yakima County Superior Court, Travis Lee Padgett faces third-degree rape of a child, communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance — methamphetamine. He is being held in the Yakima County jail on $1 million bail.

Padgett was arrested last week after the boy told a school resource officer that he’d been having sex and smoking meth with Padgett, then repeated those accusations to detectives, according to an arrest affidavit.

The boy also said he and Padgett participated in three-way sexual encounters with women and that he was frequently exposed to pornography while engaging in various sex acts.

Padgett has had several scrapes with the law over the years, including arrests for forgery, drug dealing and residential burglary, and a felony conviction for bail jumping in 2005.

Padgett’s home in 2002 was the scene of a shooting in which a female roommate was shot in the back over a $1,000 drug debt. One of the defendants in that case was Jacob Lucey, who made headlines again last month after he overstayed by two weeks a 24-hour furlough from jail granted to allow him to visit his ailing mother.
