SELAH, Wash. — A 39-year-old Yakima man leaped to his death from the Fred G. Redmon Bridge on Interstate 82 early Wednesday, according to authorities.
The man left a note in his car, which was found running with its lights on in the eastbound lanes of the twin arch bridge around 2 a.m., according to the Washington State Patrol and Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins.
Hawkins said there was nothing suspicious about the man’s death, which was being treated as a suicide. The body has since been recovered.
Also known as the Selah Creek Bridge, the Redmon Bridge is about nine miles north of Yakima on I-82.
