A Granger man who started shooting after he lost a fistfight was sentenced to 3½ years in prison Tuesday.

Franco Canseco Jr., 29, shot up two different homes in the 400 block of Granger’s West Boulevard North after he was seen getting knocked to the ground in a fight last May.

Canseco’s plea in Yakima County Superior Court to second-degree assault included a deadly weapon enhancement that prohibits time off for good behavior on three years of the sentence.

No injuries were reported in the shooting, deputy prosecutor Gary Hintze said.

“The thing is, they (the police) never figured out with any certainty who he was shooting at,” Hintze added.

Canseco is a gang member, and the conviction was his second felony since 2004, when he was convicted of bail jumping, Hintze said.
