SUNNYSIDE — Police looking for a homicide suspect ended up arresting a 20-year-old man Tuesday wanted on alleged drugs and weapons offenses.

Sunnyside gang specialist officers arrested the man, whom they call a documented gang member and convicted felon, while searching an apartment in the 100 block of West Edison Avenue for another suspect wanted elsewhere on a homicide warrant, Sgt. Joey Glossen said Wednesday in a news release.

Officers did not find the homicide suspect, but arrested the 20-year-old on felony warrants and violation of three domestic violence protection orders brought by a woman who was in the apartment at the time, Glossen said.

Officers found two handguns, one with an altered serial number, and methamphetamine, Glossen said. The release did not say how much.
