Henry J. Lombness, 88, of Yakima died Nov. 14 at Cottage in the Meadow. Mr. Lombness was born in Grand Forks, N.D. He worked as a firefighter with the Yakima Fire Department from 1950 to 1971. After retiring he worked at the Vancouver School for the Deaf as a house parent. He was an adviser for Ears for the Deaf and taught sign language classes at Yakima Valley Community College.
Survivors include two daughters, Lily Richmond of Tacoma and Karen Harvey of Selah; a son, Gary Lombness of Spokane; a brother, Joe Lombness; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Nov. 30 at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel, Yakima.
