James B. Emmons, 98, of Yakima died Wednesday at home. Mr. Emmons was born in Fairfield, Texas. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in construction, then was a farm laborer in the fruit industry.
Survivors include a son, Jim Emmons; a daughter, Patricia Britt, both of Modesto, Calif.; five stepchildren, Ted Vickers and Mike Vickers of Yakima, Cathy Thompson of Marysville, Pat Conklin of Las Vegas and Gerald Vickers of Kelso; a sister, Marie Weaver of Spencer, Okla.; seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Keith and Keith Ninth Avenue Chapel, Yakima. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Terrace Heights Memorial Park.
