GOLDENDALE, Wash. — A Hillsboro, Ore., semi driver was taken to the hospital after he tipped his truck Wednesday morning near Goldendale.

About 5:45 a.m., David Lambert, 37, drifted off the northbound shoulder of U.S. Highway 97 about five miles north of Goldendale, damaging the guardrail and tipping his truck onto its right side, the Washington State Patrol said in a news release.

He was taken with unspecified injuries to Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale, where he was treated and released, the State Patrol said. His 2009 Freightliner tractor with trailer was totaled.

Troopers blame inattention and plan to ticket him with second-degree negligent driving, the news release said.
