Salvador Gonzalez, 82, of Wapato died Tuesday at Toppenish Community Hospital. Mr. Gonzalez was born in Noria De Mungia, Mexico, and also lived in Ukiah and Hollister, Calif.
Survivors include his wife, Juana Gonzalez of Wapato; four sons, Salvador Gonzalez Jr. and Leo Gonzales, both of Wapato, Arturo Gonzalez of Puyallup and Juan Gonzalez of Toppenish; three daughters, Rosa Nguyen of Renton, Ofelia Cortez of Grandview and Leonor Velsaquez of Prosser; three sisters, Saara Gonzales of Irapuato, Mexico, and Eladia Gonzalez and Guadalupe Gonzalez, both of Abasolo, Mexico; two brothers, Cruze Gonzalez and Juan Manuel Gonzalez, both of Irapuato; 18 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, with recitation of the rosary at 6 p.m., at Merritt Funeral Home of Wapato. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato. Burial will follow in Reservation Community Memorial Park, Wapato.
