Merlin Ralph Byrne, 82, of Prosser died Feb. 27. Mr. Byrne was born in Driggs, Idaho, and raised in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He also lived in Colorado before settling in Prosser in 1954. He worked at Hanford until the mid-1980s, then traveled around the West Coast doing carpentry jobs until retiring in 1997.

Survivors include two daughters, Debbie Lewis of Moses Lake and Kim Hamad of Richland; four sons, Leslie Byrne, Kenneth Byrne and Darin Byrne, all of Prosser, and Bobby Byrne of Richland; two sisters, Judy Saxton and Darlene; a brother, Laverne Byrne; 19 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. March 14 at Prosser Funeral Home.
