Nicholas S. Starr, 34, of White Swan died Tuesday as a result of an automobile accident. Mr. Starr was born in Yakima and was an enrolled member of the Yakama Nation. He worked at Yakama Forest Products for many years. He also worked with the Salmon Corps, Americorps, King Mountain and spent some time working in Alaska.
Survivors include his companion, Sacheen Whitefoot; two daughters, Sonovia and Summer Starr; a stepson, Taven Whitefoot; his parents, Evans and Leona (Shippentower) Starr; five brothers, Robert, Vincent, Patrick, Chad and Brian Starr; and two sisters, Kathleen and Tiffany Starr.
Dressing services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Toppenish Creek Longhouse. Overnight service will be at the longhouse with the funeral at 8 a.m. Friday in the Methodist Cemetery in White Swan. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home, Toppenish.
